Cook up a storm, meet other young people and gain skills in the kitchen with our Hospitality Course. This course is the best way to kick start your quest for employment, whether you aspire to be a char, or a nurse, this course teaches you transferrable skills which look great on any CV.

Project Youth works in partnership with tertiary institutes to support young people aged 15-24 who face a multitude of complex barriers and long-term disengagement from education and employment. These young people learn skills to work in the hospitality industry through our 11-week hospitality course. The course runs four times a year and provides hands-on practical work experience at Café Y and training classes through the education provider. Young people will earn their RSA, RCG, as well as valuable hospitality knowledge.

Young people in the program also benefit from individual case management from Project Youth staff who can assist with transportation, food, clothing, medical appointments, and support for justice issues to remove any barriers to achievement.

Not only do the young people gain work experience, and a qualification in hospitality, but they also build strong friendships, develop valuable social skills, and gain confidence and self-esteem. After graduation, Project Youth supports young people into securing employment or furthering their education with other training opportunities. Previous participants have gone on to become nurses, bartenders, butchers and have worked in the tourism, finance, and commercial food industry.
